LCRD Hammerheads do well in Douglas

The Liberty County Hammerheads swam June 15 at the Coffee County Recreational Department and performed well in the summer heat. The team competed against five other counties.

"The team proved they are a team to be recognized. Swimmers performed and placed well against others," coach Susan Baker said. "If the season continues the way it is going, there will a good number of the team members heading to the state competition which will be in July."

The results were:

Joshua Morris, 8, finished first in the 50 yard freestyle, 25 yard breast stroke, and 25 yard butterfly.

Harlee Stanford, 9, finished fifth in the 50 yard freestyle, 16 in the 25 yard freestyle and eighth the 25 yard butterfly.

Julianna Morris, 10, finished third in the 50 yard freestyle, third 25 yard freestyle and first in the 25 yard breast stroke.

Makenna Rhea, 10, finished third in the 25 yard freestyle, 13th in the 25 yard backstroke and 11th in the 25 yard butterfly.

Nicholas Hahn, 10, finished first in the 50 yard freestyle, fourth in the 25 yard breast stroke and the 25 yard butterfly.

McKaylin Darsey, 11, finished first in the 100 yard freestyle, 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard individual medley.

Amanda McGrath, 12, finished fourth in the 100 yard freestyle, fourth in the 100 yard individual medley and third in the 50 yard butterfly.

Rebecca Stock, 12, finished sixth in the 100 yard freestyle, 12th in the 50 yard freestyle and sixth in the 50 yard backstroke.

Robert Hooe, 11, finished eighth 100 yard freestyle, 13th in the 50 yard freestyle and fifth in the 100 yard individual medley.

Kirsten Morris, 13, finished first in the 50 yard breast stroke and the 50 yard backstroke and fourth in the 100 yard freestyle.

Stephanie Hahn, 13, finished sixth in the 100 yard freestyle, third in the 50 yard breast stroke and fifth in the 50 yard butterfly.

Margaret Turner, 14, finished second in the 100 yard freestyle, first in the 100 yard individual medley and the 50 yard butterfly.

Gatlin Woods, 13, finished second in the 100 yard freestyle, third in the 100 yard individual medley and 50 yard breast stroke.

Maggie McNeal, 15, finished 12th in the 100 yard freestyle, 15th in the 50 yard freestyle, and eighth in the 50 yard backstroke,

Reagan Williams, 15, finished third in the 100 yard freestyle, ninth in the 50 yard freestyle and seventh in the 50 yard butterfly.

Jennifer Gaughran, 15, finished sixth in the 100 yard freestyle ,eighth in the 50 yard freestyle and fifth in the 50 yard backstroke.

Kayla Williams, 17, finished first in the 100 yard freestyle and 50 yard butterfly and sixth in the 50 yard freestyle.

Dakota woods, 15, finished fourth in the 100 yard freestyle, third in the 50 yard breast stroke and fourth in the 50 yard butterfly.

Taylor Baker, 15, finished 10th in the 50 yard freestyle, seventh in the 50 yard breast stroke and sixth in the 50 yard butterfly.

Kevin Morris, 15, finished fifth in the 50 yard freestyle and breast stroke and third in the 50 yard backstroke.

Frankie Meadows, 16, finished ninth in the 100 yard freestyle, 12th in the 50 yard freestyle and 11th in the 50 yard breast stroke.

The swimmers are now preparing for the July 13 district meet in Hazelhurst.
