LeCounte set for Under Armour Elite 50

Liberty County football player Richard LeCounte has been selected to take part in the inaugural Under Armour Elite 50 Experience.
The event will feature 50 of the nation’s top underclassmen who will participate in the event Jan. 1-3 in Orlando, Fla.
Under Armour All-America Game head coaches Herm Edwards and Steve Mariucci will address the Elite 50 prospects on Jan. 1. The prospects then will attend the Jersey Presentation Ceremony in which the Elite 50 prospects will be recognized along with the 2015 Under Armour All-America teams.
On Jan. 2, the Elite 50 group will go through an on-field workout at Disney Wide World of Sports from 9-11:30 a.m. before heading to Tropicana Field for the 2015 Under Armour All-America Game, which airs on ESPN2 at 4 p.m.
The group of 50 of the nation’s top underclassmen represent 12 states plus the District of Columbia. Included in the talented group are the top 12 prospects in the ESPN Junior 300 and 26 of the top 30, which includes the No. 1-ranked prospects at quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, offensive tackle, defensive end, and defensive tackle, outside linebacker, safety and cornerback.
According to the news release from ESPN, LeCounte will play at corner back. LeCounte, a sophomore, participated in the Rivals 100 Five-Star Challenge in June in Baltimore. According to 247sports.com, LeCounte is No. 22 overall for the class of 2017 and has received scholarship offers from 17 schools.
