LeCounte to play in All-American

Richard LeCounte III of Liberty County High School has been selected from more than one million high school football players across the country to play in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Those selected will play in the annual East vs. West matchup on Jan. 7 at the Alamo dome in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be televised live on NBC at 1 p.m. and will feature the nation’s top 100 high school players.

Representatives from the Army All-American Bowl will be present a game jersey to LeCounte during a ceremony at Liberty County High at 1:45 p.m. Oct. 7.

The Army All American has spotlighted some of the nation’s best high school football players for 16 years. Andrew Luck, Odell Beckham Jr., and Ezekiel Elliott made their national debuts at the bowl game.
