Being told Thursday morning that your Region 3-AAAA football game was happening that night — and not Friday as expected — could have caused anxiety for some.

But the Liberty County coaching staff took it in stride and issued punishment to the tune of a 47-14 win over Windsor Forest at Memorial Stadium in Savannah.

The action came fast and furious, with Jaalon Frazier completing a 67-yard pass to Jacquez Williams and later completing a 70-yard pass to Elisha Polite for the first two Panther touchdowns of the night.

Frazier then hit Richard LeCounte on a 27-yard touchdown pass, and kicker Sidney Wilkinson made two of her three extra-point attempts.

The first quarter ended with the Panthers up 20-0.

In the second quarter, Frazier hit Charell Roberts for a 5-yard TD pass, and Wilkinson nailed the point-after try.

Frazier then tossed the pigskin to Polite for a 34-yard TD pass, but the PAT failed.

At the intermission, the Panthers had a 33-0 lead.

Knowing a tough non-region game against Richmond Hill is coming up in two weeks, and then region playoffs, Panther head coach Kirk Warner pulled many of his starting veterans and gave his younger players a chance to shine as well.

In the third quarter, the Knights got a touchdown when quarterback Malik Polke tossed a 74-yard touchdown pass to Trayvon Cokley, and Niels Eruby made the PAT.

The Knights added another TD in the fourth quarter off a 5-yard run by Traivon Bass-Black.

Then Williams scored an 8-yard rushing TD for Liberty, and Panther Calvin Holmes scampered in for a 2-yard touchdown. Liberty made the two-point conversion, sealing the win.

Frazier went 13 of 19 for 326 passing yards and five touchdowns. Sophomore Aaron Kuhl was 1 of 4 for 25 yards. Williams finished the night with 135 yards rushing on 11 carries and a touchdown. Junior running back Kevin Malwah rushed for 55 yards.

Polite ended the night with 24 rushing yards and 119 passing yards off three receptions and two touchdowns. LeCounte made four receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown. Williams had two catches for 83 yards and a touchdown.

Wilkinson made 3 of 4 PATs.

Liberty is 6-3 overall and 3-1 in the region and has next Friday off.

The Panthers return to action Nov. 6 at Richmond Hill.
