Liberty County and Claxton traded blows throughout an entertaining baseball game before the Panthers came away with an 8-6 win in eight innings Tuesday.

According to stats posted on Game Changer, the teams traded leads seven times. At the end of the seventh inning, the game was tied 6-6.
Liberty scored two runs in the extra inning for the win.

Parker Neely was 4 for 5 with three singles, a double and an RBI. Jacari Roberts was 3 for 4 at the plate.
Neely also had seven putouts. Jacob Albertson had five putouts, and Roberts had four.

Colby Rhea pitched seven innings, tossing nine strikeouts, walking three and giving up nine hits.
Roberts pitched the extra inning and threw two strikeouts.

Rhea earned special recognition from the coaching staff. The senior pitcher, who is headed to Savannah State, tossed his 100th strikeout of the season and now has 101.
“That’s a big accomplishment,” Panther baseball coach Tony Glazer said.

The Panthers finished the regular season with a 10-11 record and were 5-6 in Region 3-AAAA.
Liberty will travel to West Laurens for the first round of the state playoffs Friday.

The Panthers go into the game as the fourth seed in their region. West Laurens is the top seed team from Region 2-AAAA.
