Liberty to take on powerhouse Jackson in first round of state softball playoffs

The Liberty County softball team dropped its regular-season finale Wednesday, but they are still headed to the Class AAA state playoffs.

The Lady Panthers will take on Jackson, last year’s Class AAA state runner-up, in the first round of the state playoffs Monday.

Also taking part in the super regional are Crisp County and Cross Creek.

Bradwell topped Liberty 8-4 in the regular-season finale for both teams. Kainani Auld was 2-for-2 and scored three runs for the Lady Tigers, and Leah Denmark was 2-for-2 and drove in three runs. Lexie Carson added a triple.

Cadie Martin had two RBIs and Emma Charter had a double for Liberty County.

Bradwell ended its season at 8-12.
