Representing Fort Stewart and Liberty County the women’s bowling team known as The Supremes brought home the first place trophy after posting a team score of 2,710 in the 53rd annual Georgia State Women’s Bowling Association Division II Championship Tournament. The tournament was held at Victory Lanes in Savannah in the spring and the hometown women said they were determined to win on their own turf, saying they were not going to allow others to beat them in their home alley without fierce competition. The Supremes are Daisy Woodard, Lula Turman, Stine Montgomery and Paulette Mazur.
