ATLANTA — George Holtzman of Hinesville recently concluded 18 years of service on the Georgia Real Estate Commission. His term was up Jan. 26.
Holtzman, a broker and co-owner of Coldwell Banker Holtzman, Realtors in Hinesville, served the longest tenure of service of any industry member in the history of the commission, according to a news release from the commission’s office. Holtzman was elected chairman or vice chairman seven times and served under four governors.
Charles Clark, Georgia real estate commissioner from 1976-2006, praised Holtzman at a recognition event put on by the Hinesville Area Board of Realtors on Nov. 2 in Hinesville.
“Upon learning that George would conclude his service on the commission when his term is up on Jan. 26, 2012, a commission staff member said, ‘There goes a voice for acting reasonably and responsibly,’” Clark said.
