As 2011 winds down, the Courier is taking a look back at some of the more memorable sports moments and achievements of the year.
This week, the spotlight is on the First Presbyterian Christian Academy boys’ soccer team.
The 2011 squad finished 15-7 overall and qualified to host the first round of the state playoffs at their new home field at the St. James Sports Center in Holmestown.
The Highlanders played against Oak Mountain in round one and sent the game into overtime. But Oak Mountain scored two quick goals in the extra period to win, 4-2.
