The Coastal Crew Rebels seventh-grade basketball team reached the Elite Eight of the Youth Basketball of America Super Regional Tournament held Feb. 28-March 2 in Dalton.
“We went 2-1 on the tournament,” Rebels coach Simon Steele said. “We won two straight games and earned a bye into the bracket play. Our kids played hard and represented Hinesville well.”
The Rebels lost, 84-68.
Rebel Isaiah Scott had 20 points, 11 rebounds and three steals in the Rebels’ lone loss to Dwyane Wade’s team, the Dwyane Wade Future Stars, the coach said.
