BI volleyballers regroup, beat RH

The  Bradwell Lady Tigers’ volleyball team split victories last week, falling to Glynn Academy in two sets (25-13, 25-14) and defeating host Richmond Hill in two sets (25-23, 25-21). BI’s volleyball coach DeAndre Davis said he was pleased with the girls’ overall performance but added mistakes and a lack of communication on the court hurt his team.
Davis said the girls regrouped and were “clicking on all cylinders,” against Richmond Hill.
“The ladies were digging for the balls, diving out of bounds, communicating and playing as a team,” he said. Lady Tiger Kiera Martin was given credit for her help on defense and Leitia Leiataua has been consistent offensively.
“Her serves have been very difficult to handle for most teams,” Davis said about Leiataua. “Ke’Andrea Ladson and Raven Dozier have also been big forces on the offensive and defensive sides. Both have gotten us blocks and spikes when we really need them.”
Davis said he has seen the team improve and grow throughout the season and has received compliments from other coaches regarding their aggressiveness and hustle.
“It is good when other people notice the good things your kids are doing,” Davis said.
Bradwell will host Windsor Forest Tuesday and honor seniors.
The match begins at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $3.
