The Long County High School baseball team’s final game of the season April 28 against Vidalia High School was cancelled due to bad weather.
But that didn’t stop the Long County Diamond Club from honoring the team’s seniors.
The team, parents and the Blue Diamond Club traveled to Jesup to enjoy steaks at the Overpass Restaurant, with the club picking up the bill for the players.
After the meal, seniors Chris Stock, Carlton Milton, Clint Kennedy, Nick Moody, Jonathon Flynn, Kyle Sapwell and Brandon McManus were recognized for their hard work. In addition, the late Mark Horne, a Blue Tide player who died in 2008 and would have been a senior this year, also was honored.
