Faith Baptist Christian basketball star Antonius Cleveland signed a letter of intent Wednesday to join the Southeast Missouri State University program.
During his last season with the Crusaders, Cleveland, a 6-foot-5 guard, averaged 18 points, five rebounds and five assists per game.
According to gosoutheast.com, Cleveland was a 5-foot-8 substitute at Overton High School in Memphis, Tenn., two years ago. The following summer, he grew to 6-foot-2 and transferred to Germantown (Tenn.) High School, where he averaged 12.5 points per game before finishing his high-school career at Faith Baptist.
“We are extremely pleased that Antonius is joining our program,” SEMO head coach Dickey Nutt said in an article on www.gosoutheast.com. “This is a young man who has grown considerably over the last 18 months, and one thing he can really do well is score the basketball. He is very athletic and is also a good student.”
The Redhawks went 17-16 this season and 8-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference.
