Former Liberty County High School Panthers running back Roderick Jones will be playing in Jacksonville this weekend.
Jones, who plays for Shorter University, will travel with the Hawks to take on Edward Waters College at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Rains High School. The Hawks (4-3) are hoping to bounce back from a disappointing 35-10 loss at the University of the Cumberlands last Saturday that essentially eliminated Shorter from Mid-South Conference West Division title contention.
Jones, a sophomore slotback, scored his first touchdown of the season two weeks ago against Bellhaven on an 82-yard run. Jones is the son of Robert L. Jones of Hinesville.
