One day after the First Presbyterian Christian Academy girls’ soccer team clinched a spot in the Georgia Independent School Association’s state final four, the Highlander boys followed suit with a 7-1 win over Valwood Christian on Saturday in Valdosta.
Highlander coach Tom Sukaratana knew he would have to step up his defense as Valwood was the only team to score more than five goals against his team this season.
With the win, the Highlanders today will travel to Carrollton to face Oak Mountain Academy in the semifinals, starting at 5 p.m.
The Highlanders are 13-3 overall and 4-2 in Region 2-AA.
