Softball tourney set

The inaugural Softball in the ’Ville co-ed softball tournament will be held June 1-2 beginning at 9 a.m. at James Brown Park, 800 Tupelo Trail in Hinesville. The tournament is open to 16 teams. Each team must have a minimum of five females on the field at all times. Registration is $150 per team. Make checks payable to: Georgia Coastal Youth, P.O. Box 368, Riceboro, GA 31323. Kids’ fishing event
set at Harris Neck
The staff of Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge will host its first Kids Fishing Day from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. June 8. Children ages 5-12 will have the opportunity to learn about water safety, fishing ethics, equipment, casting and marine debris, while also having plenty of time to fish.
Pre-registration is required, and the event is limited to 80 children. All registered participants will receive a free rod, reel and tackle box to use during the event and take home. Lunch will be provided. State fishing licenses will not be required.

Coast-2-Coast Super

Georgia Coastal Youth Inc. is hosting the 2013 Coast-2-Coast Basketball Super Regional tournament June 7-9 in Jacksonville. Team registration closes at midnight May 24. The fee is $300 per team and is open to boys’ and girls’ teams from third through 12th grade.  Multiple team discounts are available.
