Former Bradwell Institute football player and current Miami Dolphin Gary Guyton will host his third-annual sports festival May 4-5 at James Brown Park and Bradwell Institute.
Events begin at 7 p.m. Friday, May 4, with the Great Amazing Race for Youth at James Brown Park.
Patterned after the popular television show The Amazing Race, teams will race around a 1-mile, cross-country course that includes up to eight fun-filled stations. Clues at each station direct the team to perform tasks before proceeding to the next station.
The team that completes the tasks and reaches the finish line the fastest wins.
The top 25 teams qualify for a national championship race and a chance to win $2,000. Teams can be a mix of kids, parents, grandparents, siblings, mentors, etc. Team entry fees are $40 until May 3 and $50 day of the race.
On Saturday at Bradwell Institute, Guyton, along with other  professional football players, will offer free football and cheerleading camps to highlight the activities.
The first camp is for kids in grades 1-6 and starts at 8 a.m.
A high-school football camp will start at 11 a.m.
