Three Liberty County YMCA Heat swimmers qualified for the 14U long course state championship meet, which will take place in July in Augusta.
Swimmers Sandra Scott, Jorge Melendez and Kayla Kelly qualified for the state meet by finishing eighth or better during the first long course meet April 30-May 1 at the Chatham County Aquatic Center.
Scott dominated the girls’ 11-12  age division by placing first in the 200-meter butterfly, 200-meter individual medley, 50-meter butterfly, 400-meter freestyle, 100-meter backstroke, 100-meter butterfly and 400-meter individual medley.
Melendez showed his speed in the boys’ 10-and-under age group and qualified for the state meet in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle as well as the 50 and 100 backstroke. He placed first in the 50 backstroke, 50 freestyle and 400 individual medley and second in the 200 individual medley and 400 freestyle. He placed fourth in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle.
Kelly qualified for the state meet in the girls’ 10-and-under division in the 50 and 100 backstroke by placing fifth. She came in sixth place in the 200 individual medley and eighth in the 50 and 200 freestyle.

Aaliyah Kelly: 2nd in 50 breaststroke, 4th in 50 backstroke, 5th in 200 breaststroke and 8th in 100 backstroke
Madison James: 1st in 200 backstroke, 2nd in 50 and 100 backstroke, 3rd in 50 freestyle and 400 individual medley, 4th in 50 butterfly and 6th in 100 freestyle.
Mikayla Zopfi: 7th in 100 freestyle, 3rd in 50 backstroke, 4th in 50 freestyle and 50 breast and 5th in  100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke.Lexie Huffman: 2nd in 50 butterfly, 4th in 100 breaststroke and 400 in freestyle.
Harlee Stanford: 8th in 50 butterfly.
Abbey Huffman: 8th in 100 breaststroke.

Boys’ results
Brayden Huffman: 7th in 100 freestyle.
Trent Huffman: 8th in 100 freestyle and 50 backstroke. 
Juan Vendrell: 3rd in 100 breaststroke, 5th in 50 and 100 freestyle, 6th in 100 butterfly, 7th in 50 butterfly.
Zachary James: 2nd in 400 freestyle, 6th in 200 freestyle.
Jacob Lee: 5th in 100 breaststroke, 6th in 50 breaststroke.

Adult
Donna Hooe: 3rd in 50 backstroke and 50 butterfly, 7th in 400 freestyle, 8th in 200 freestyle.
