Former Liberty County High School baseball player Aaron Hoffer was one of several East Georgia College players recognized for helping the Bobcats finish a successful debut season.
Hoffer was recognized along with teammate C.J. Lusted for tying for the team lead in home runs with four apiece.
Other statistical leaders for the Bobcats, who went 22-32 in their first full season of competition, were Chris Lusted with 51 hits, C.J. Lusted and Seth Fleming with 13 doubles each, and Fleming with four triples.
C.J. Lusted hit .325 to lead the team in batting average while Kyle Rager had a team-high 31 runs batted in.
Earning region honors were Rager, who was named a Gold Glove second baseman, and C.J. Lusted, who earned All-Region pitcher honors after tying for the region lead in wins with nine and pacing the region in innings pitched with 103-1/3. His 2.61 earned run average was third in the region.
C.J. Lusted won the Bobcat’s Cy Young award while Kyle North was presented the Bobcat Award.
The Bobcats notched wins over ranked teams Chattahoochee Valley Community College, Spartanburg Methodist, Chattanooga State, Georgia Perimeter College and Middle Georgia College.
