Jacksonville notched a touchdown drive in the second quarter and added the extra-point kick. At halftime, the Hurricanes held an 8-7 advantage.
In the third quarter, the Blackhawks took the lead on a field goal. In the fourth quarter, Hurricane Fred Nelson scored a touchdown. The Hurricanes missed the extra point, but a strong defensive effort gave the home team the win.
“The defense played some serious football,” Hurricanes coach James Sharp said, adding the offense recovered after dropping a few passes.
