The 2013 Race for Preservation will host its first kids’ run at 7:45 a.m. Feb. 23 in Savannah, prior to the start of the 5K and 10K events.
The kids’ run is free to all participants. The approximately quarter-mile course will start on the north side of Forsyth Park, Bull at Gaston street, head south, circle the Forsyth Park Fountain and return to the finish line.
“This new event is a great way to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle among younger children who are not be able to run a 5K or 10K, but are interested in running and/or becoming a part of our preservation family” said Daniel Carey, president of Historic Savannah Foundation.
Race registration is online at www.fleetfeetsavannah.com/race-for-preservation.
