Long County fell 10-4 to Tattnall County on Thursday in Reidsville, but the Lady Blue Tide may have won in the process.
Though the loss dropped the Lady Tide to 5-13 overall and 0-4 in Region 2-AA, coach Brian Thomas said the team’s overall play was good.
“I thought we played a very good game,” Thomas said. “Aside from a few mistakes on the field, I thought that we put together a near complete game. I think the game was a sign of things to come for us … I believe that we are poised to make a run at the region playoffs.”
Leading hitters for Long County were Taylor Harrison, who went 2 for 4; Kaylyn McEwing, who was 1 for 2; and Erica Golden, who was 1 for 4 with a double and three RBIs.
