LCRD offers ways to keep cool
Sendero Springs Pool

Summer is here, and the Liberty County Recreation Department has a number of events, classes and opportunities that will let local residents keep cool in the pool.

Open swim

Both the Hinesville swimming pool and the new pool at the Liberty County Community Complex in Midway opened in May. The LCRD’s Hinesville pool is in Liberty Independent Troop Park on Highway 84. Hours of operation are 2-6 p.m. daily. Admission is $2 per person. The pool may be reserved for private parties.

Swimming lessons

Swimming lessons for participants ages 4 and older will be offered at both pools in a two-week session (Monday through Thursday) on July 7-17. Lessons start at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and at 6:10 p.m. Each class is 50 minutes long. The cost is $25 per participant for a two-week session. A limited number of slots are available.

Pool rentals

Pools may be reserved for exclusive use by individuals or groups. The fee is $50 per hour for 25 people or less, $75 per hour for 25-50 people, $100 per hour for 50-75 people and $125 per hour for 75-100 people. Reservations must be made through the LCRD office.
