Local archer among top placers at GSU event

Ludowici archer Cassandra Pelton was one of the eight members of the Evans County JOAD Archers who competed April 26 at Georgia Southern University’s Final Showdown, hosted by Southern Eagles Archery.
Pelton placed first in the junior female recurve division.
In other results, Todd Edgar of Cobbtown placed first in the cadet male recurve division; Sarah Thomas was first in the junior female compound division; Aden Whitley took first in the Yeoman male compound division; Virginia Whitley took first in the yeoman female compound; and Levi Whitley placed first in the cub male compound division.
