The Long County 10-and-under all-star team fell to Pierce County, 5-0, in Thursday’s first round of the Georgia Recreation Parks Association District 2 Class C Baseball Tournament in Ludowici.
The game was a scoreless defensive battle for five innings. But in the sixth inning, the Bears found their bats and, along with a couple of untimely errors by Long County, Pierce put up five runs to take the game.
Long County was still alive in the tournament as of Saturday. However, as of press time Saturday, the team’s opponent had not been determined.
