Long County Back-to-School Bash is coming up fast

With the new school year just around the corner the Long County Recreation Department is gearing up for its annual Back-to-School Bash on Aug. 18.
The celebration will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the recreation complex. Attractions at the event will include an inflatable water slide, a jumbo slip and slide, a home-run derby and an archery range.
All activities are free to Long County residents, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
In addition, applications for football and cheerleading are being accepted for the 2012 season.  Football is for players ages 7-12 while cheerleading is for ages 5-12.
The application fee for football and cheerleading is $25, and the deadline to sign up is Aug. 10.
Any application received after this deadline will have a late fee of $35.
Forms can be turned into the recreation department in Ludowici.
