Bradwell Institute’s Lady Tiger senior basketball player Mariah Maternik was named to the Georgia Sportswriters Association all-state basketball team as an honorable mention selection, the GSWA announced Thursday.
Maternik averaged 17 points per game while helping the Lady Tigers to a 29-1 record.
She scored 374 points to lead Region 3-AAAAA and was 16 of 43 from beyond the 3-point line. Maternik finished third in the region in treys.
Maternik also was 16th in rebounds with 89, sixth in steals with 45 and first in assists with 70.
The Lady Tigers went 16-0 in the region and spent much the second half of the season ranked highly in various top 10 polls.
The girls made it to the second round of the state playoffs before losing 50-25 to McEachern.
