The Blue Tide Touchdown Club recently held paintball competition to raise money for the Long County High School football team.
The two-session event was hosted by Low Country Paintball.
The event kicked off at 9 a.m. and ran all day, giving students, teachers, coaches and the public an opportunity to don protective gear and splatter paint on players and coaches.
For those who didn’t own their own equipment, guns, protective clothing and paintballs were available on the site.
Proceeds went to the club, which provides meals for the team prior to each game.  In addition to feeding the team, the group also helps purchase equipment and improve athletic facilities.  Other fundraising events sponsored by the club include the annual golf tournament, a Lift-A-Thon weightlifting tournament and a rodeo.  The group also sells concessions during the games and sponsorships to individuals and businesses that want to help support the Blue Tide team.
