Liberty County High School’s boys’ basketball team advanced to the semifinals of the Region 3-AAAA tournament after beating Hephzibah, 66-47, Tuesday at Butler High School in Augusta.
The Lady Panthers were scheduled to play Burke County on Wednesday, but bad weather postponed the game until 5:30 p.m. Monday.
Freddie McSwain and Conner Bailey each scored 18 points to pace the Panthers. Davion Mitchell chipped in 15 points.
The Panthers are 19-6 overall, 5-1 in their sub-region, and play Butler at 5:30 p.m. next Tuesday in Augusta. The winner moves into Wednesday’s title game, while the loser plays in the consolation bracket.

On Tuesday, according to the Augusta Chronicle, Butler guard Don Coleman had 40 points in the Bulldogs’ 94-77 win over South Effingham.
The Lady Panthers enter the tournament with a 14-10 overall mark and 4-2 sub-region record.
