Bradwell Institute softball player Barbara Rego was chosen to participate in the Georgia Dugout Club All State Games in Columbus Nov. 11-12, at the South Commons Olympic Softball Complex. Rego was chosen along with other nominated players based on submitted nomination forms from coaches, statistics and a selection committee comprised of area coaches.
Rego, an all-around utility player, was picked to play in the outfield.
“It feels great, and I am very thankful for my family, friends and coaches who have supported me,” Rego said. “I’ve worked so hard and I’m blessed I was selected and given the opportunity to play in my Lady Tigers’ uniform one more time.”
Lady Tigers coach Sharyl Eastlake said making the team is an “incredible honor.”
“Barbara is the only player in our region to be chosen to play,” Eastlake said. “It’s an incredible honor for Barbara, her family, Bradwell Institute, and the Lady Tigers Softball Team. The Lady Tigers and coaches are thrilled Barb will be wearing the Tiger Blue and Gold uniform during the games Nov. 11-12. She will play alongside players from the highest ranked high school teams in our state including the Harrison High pitcher we saw during State Play-offs in Cobb County.”
Rego had 59 at bats with 31 hits and 28 RBIs scoring 21 runs this season. The senior has committed to play for Georgia Perimeter College.
