The St. James Coastal Crew Rebels’ sixth-grade boys’ basketball team took first place at the Rebels’ Classic Tournament held May 11-12 at the St. James Sports Center.
According to coach Simon Steele, teams representing Richmond Hill, Savannah and Hinesville and the Rebels went 4-0 against their competition.
In the championship game, the Rebels’ Isaiah Scott scored a game-high 30 points for the win.
“I’m proud of our kids,” Steele said. “They are becoming more disciplined at practice and it is reflecting our play on the court in a positive way.  The best is yet to come for us.”
The sixth-grade Rebels recently competed in a tournament in Atlanta. Results will be in a future edition of the Courier.
