Long MS softball tryouts
The Long County Middle School softball team will have tryouts starting at 9 a.m. Monday at the Long County Recreation Department, field N2. Any rising sixth- through eighth-grade player who will attend LCMS and has an updated physical is eligible.
Tryouts will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday, if needed.

Youth bowling on post
The Fort Stewart Youth Bowling will register bowlers 3-18 (21 if enrolled in college) years old from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 7 at Marne Lanes. Those interested must be at Marne Lanes on Sept. 7 to ensure being placed on a team. Play starts at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 28. Tiger Tee-Off Saturday
The Tiger Tee-Off Golf Tournament will start at 9 a.m. Aug. 3 at Taylor’s Creek Golf Course on Fort Stewart. The tourney format is a four-person scramble with a respectable handicap. Prizes are $300 for first place, $200 for second place, $100 for third place and a free car for hitting a hole-in-one on a select hole. Entry fees are $50 per individual and $200 per team. Lady Panthers start soon
Liberty County High School’s softball team will start conditioning at 8 a.m. Monday. The Lady Panthers will condition daily. Tryouts will be at 6 p.m. Thursday. Athletes must have physicals and be eligible to play. The Lady Panthers still need softball gloves. Anyone wishing to donate new or used gloves can drop them off at the school’s front office. Lady Tiger softball conditioning
The Bradwell Lady Tiger softball team has its summer conditioning from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 9-11 a.m. Saturdays at Lady Tiger softball field.
Girls entering grades 8-12 are welcome. Participants must have a current sports physical and need to bring softball equipment, tennis shoes and a water bottle.
