Kids Fishing Day at Harris Neck NWR

Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge will host its first Kids Fishing Day from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. June 8.
Children, ages 5-12, can learn about water safety and sportsmanship while also fishing. Registration is required and limited to 80. Participants will get free tackle to use and take home. Lunch will be provided. Fishing licenses will not be required.

Basketball regional set for Jacksonville
Georgia Coastal Youth is hosting the 2013 Coast-2-Coast Basketball Super Regional tournament June 7-9 in Jacksonville. Team registration is underway and closes at midnight May 24. The fee is $300 per team and is open to boys and girls teams from third through 12th grade. Multiple team discounts are available. Teams are guaranteed three games. Softball in the ‘Ville June 1-2
The inaugural Softball in the ’Ville co-ed softball tournament will be June 1-2 beginning at 9 a.m. at James Brown Park, 800 Tupelo Trail in Hinesville. The tournament is open to 16 teams. Southeast Georgia Football Combine
The 2013 Southeast Georgia Football Combine will be from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. June 29 at Long Bell Stadium in Hinesville. Register by June 22 and pay $30. The fee is $45 later. For more information call 912-432-2094 or 912-634-8809

Seventh annual Savannah Mile Run
Registration is under way for the Savannah Mile Run, which will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 25, in Forsyth Park. The Savannah Mile will include five heats, a fun-run family heat and five age groups. All proceeds go to The 200 Club, which provides financial assistance to the families of police officers and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty. Entry fees will be waived for first responders and military members.

Richmond Hill Soccer Club sets tryouts
The Richmond Hill Soccer Club is holding tryouts for select and academy soccer for the fall season. The tryouts will be held at Devaul Henderson Park on Highway 144 East in Richmond Hill. Tryouts for ages U8-12 academy and U13 select will be May 28-30. Tryouts for U14-U19 select will be June 4-6. Tryouts will be from 6:30-8 p.m. There is no fee to try out. Softball team needs equipment
The Liberty County High School Lady Panthers need new and used softball gloves and bats. Anyone wishing to donate equipment can drop off the items at the school’s front office.

Junior ABA training at YMCA
Training for future American Basketball Association players is from 1-3 p.m. Sundays at the YMCA. It is open to boys and girls, ages 6-14. There is a one-time, $20 registration fee and a weekly fee of $10. For more information, call 610-3092.
