LCRD offers ways to keep cool
Summer is here, and the Liberty County Recreation Department has a number of events, classes and opportunities that will let local residents keep cool in the pool.

Family nights

Monday and Wednesday evenings are family nights. From 7:15-9 p.m., only parents and children are allowed. Admission is $2 per person.

Swimming lessons

Swimming lessons for participants ages 4 and older will be offered at the Hinesville and Midway pools (Monday through Thursday) July 7-17. Lessons start at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. and at 6:10 p.m.
Each class is 50 minutes long. The cost is $25 per participant for a two-week session. A limited number of slots are available.

Best-ball golf tourney set for Cherokee Rose

Registration is under way for a 36-hole best ball golf tournament at Cherokee Rose Country Club on June 28 and at Taylors Creek Golf Course on June 29.
Two-person teams will be flighted after the first round. A women’s division and a senior men’s division for age 60-plus will be offered. Sign up at either course by 5 p.m. June 23.
Cost is $75 per player and includes two days of 18-hole greens and cart fees, prizes, beverages and food.
