For the third year in a row, Liberty County’s Suzie Q’s participated in the Savannah Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure. The Suzie Q’s is a local organization committed to raising funds for breast-cancer research, cures and mammograms. This year, the Suzie Q’s raised $6,212 and were among the top five fundraising teams at the event. The Suzie Q’s already are ramping up for next year’s race, and they’re accepting donations of diapers and baby wipes to help families recently affected by the devastating tornadoes in north Georgia and Alabama. Donations can be dropped off until Tuesday at the Liberty County Health Department on Highway 84.
