The Long County High School cheerleading team was recognized last week during the school’s annual sports banquet.
The girls who won multiple awards were Adrienne Hall, Amber Walker, Taylor Duncan, Morgan Bennett, Angel Chappell, Shanta Johnson and Syndie Garcia.
Hall took home the competitive team most valuable player award, the team leadership award and earned a bar for her letter. Walker won the competitive spirit award and a bar. Duncan won the most spirited award and a bar. Bennett won the most improved award and a bar. Chappell won the Blue Tide award and a bar. Johnson won the most creative award and a bar, and Garcia took home the most-creative award and earned her first letter.
Girls who also received letter bars included Alyssa Butler, Charity Carter, Hannah Gordon, Aisha Johnson, and Courtney Willis. Earning their first letter were Lillian Belue, Ja’Nya Bryant, Kylee Profitt, Chrishawna Thomas and Deliza Vasquez. Jessica Gutierrez and Ashley Middleton took home participation certificates.
