Long County High School held its annual fall sports banquet last week to recognize athletes who participated in football, cheerleading, softball and cross country. The football team honorees were highlighted in a recent story. This article focuses on the Blue Tide cross-country team, which is coached by Erica Harris.
Kaylee Camp won the most-valuable runner award and earned a bar for her letterman’s jacket. Kelsey Higgason also took home a bar for her letter and won the coach’s award. Malik Williams earned a bar and was named the most-improved runner. Sari Castillo earned a bar and won the team’s academic award.
Samira Chapman, Megan Higgason, Emily Morey and Alyssa Mullins were awarded their first letters.
KeShawndra Cooper received a letter of participation for completing the season.
