The Long County High School football team lost, 50-14, to Wayne County on Friday in Jesup.
The Blue Tide took an early 6-0 lead and were able to drive deep into Wayne County territory in the first half, but twice turned over the ball inside the Yellow Jackets’ 20.
The loss drops Long County to 0-3. Wayne County improved to 1-1-1.
The Blue Tide schedule doesn’t get any easier Friday, when Long County travels to Darien to take on McIntosh County Academy.
The Blue Tide never have beaten the Buccaneers, and last year MCA won, 40-7.
Both teams are winless this
season.
