Bradwell Institute’s track team participated in the Beach Run Invitational track meet last weekend in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The national meet drew athletes from New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia.
According to Tiger track coach DeAndre Davis, only half of the Tiger track athletes were able to make the meet. Still, the boys’ team placed eighth overall, and the Lady Tigers placed 10th out of 35 teams.
“We competed against some of the top athletes in the nation,” Davis said. “These athletes represented Bradwell well and the entire coaching staff is very proud of their accomplishments.”
Lady Tiger Katara Burks placed first in the 800-meter run, and Michaela Calvin placed fifth in the 400 run.
Tiger Desman Martin placed third in the triple jump with a leap of 46-feet, 1-inch. Isiah Barnes placed fifth in the 100 dash, and Ziere Diggs placed fourth in the 110 hurdles.
