Tigers fall to Ware in region contest

Bradwell Institute dropped a 7-0 decision to Ware County on Wednesday in a Region 3-AAAAA contest in Waycross.
As of Thursday morning, the Tigers were 8-12 overall and 6-7 in the region. According to Maxpreps.com, that places Bradwell in fifth place behind Ware County, Effingham, Richmond Hill and Glynn Academy.
The Tigers were in a scoreless tie until the bottom of the fourth inning. The Gators got eight hits over the final innings, including two home runs, scoring four runs in the fourth and one run each in the fifth and sixth innings.
Despite knocking five hits and five players drawing walks, the Tigers couldn’t push in a run.
BI’s Ryan Desbiens went 2 for 3 with a double. Hunter Jackson was 1 for 2. Brandon Woodard and Maxwell Ashe both went 1 for 3.
Stephen Felton took the loss. He pitched four innings, giving up four hits, five runs and four walks and struck out two batters. Evan Crystal finished the game, giving up four hits, two runs and two walks and striking out two.
The Tigers were scheduled to play Thursday at Glynn. Results were unavailable at press time. Next week, they play at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Camden County.
