It was a must-win for the Bradwell Institute boys soccer team Tuesday when they hosted Groves High at Olvey Field. Needing the win to make a run for the region playoffs, the boys beat the Rebels, 10-0, in a game shortened by the score rule
The game was pretty much in the bag early for the Tiger, who led 6-0 by halftime off three goals by Will Davis, one by Robert Miller, another by Austin Smith and one by Johannes Albe.
The momentum continued in the second half and the boys scored four more goals, forcing officials to call the game.
The Tigers improve to 4-4 overall and 3-5 in the region.
Before the boys took the field the girls already had defeated Groves, 11-1. The score rule ended the game with 6:29 left in regulation.
Two Lady Tigers, Ashley Riles and Sarah Wells scored three-goal hat tricks.
The Lady Tigers nearly closed the game earlier, but with 13:55 left in regulation the Lady Rebels kicked in a goal, making the score 8-1.
The Lady Tigers regrouped, scoring two more goals before Riles hit the game winner.
The Lady Tigers currently are 5-3 overall and 4-3 in the region.
The Tigers will host Effingham County tonight with the girls at 5 p.m.

The Lady Panthers currently are 1-5 overall and 0-3 in Region 3A-AAAA. The Panther boys are 3-4 and 2-1. The Liberty teams will host Wayne County tonight at 5 p.m.
