Bouncing back from a 10-0 loss Friday at home Friday, the Bradwell Institute baseball team needed only three innings to beat Groves, 18-0, on Saturday in Garden City.
Tiger Stephen Felton pitched two innings for the win, while Darius Tilghman pitched the third as the relief. Offensively, Tiger baseball coach Rhett Hellgren said the team is starting to put the ball in play.
Bradwell went into Tuesday’s action 1-1 in the region and 2-5 overall.
Bradwell was scheduled to play Richmond Hill on Tuesday afternoon. Results were unavailable at press time.
The Tigers will play Jenkins at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Savannah. Bradwell beat the Warriors twice in 2011, which are their only two wins against Jenkins since 2005. The Warriors, however, are off to a sluggish 0-4 overall and 0-2 region start as of Tuesday.
