Locals make AJC All-State Teams

The Atlanta Journal Constitution has announced its 2016 All-State Teams, and three local athletes made the list.

Making the All-State First Team in Class-AAA was Liberty County High School football players Jaalon Frazier (athlete) and Richard LeCounte (defensive back). Making the honorable mention list was Long County linebacker Jamin Davis.

Davis recently signed to play football for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. Based on career stats posted on maxpreps.com, the Blue Tide linebacker had 182 solo tackles and 257 total tackles, had four sacks and caused six fumbles, recovering two.

LeCounte had impressive career stats in both football and basketball. In football he completed 42-of-85 passes for 750 yards and 10 touchdowns. He had 194 carries for 1,450 yards and 13 touchdowns. He had 86 receptions for 1,683 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Defensively he had 284 solo tackles and 115 assists with 36 tackles for loss of yards. LeCounte had four sacks, recorded 13 interceptions for 360 yards, deflected 33 passes, recovered eight fumbles for 151 yards and returned 42 kickoffs for 1,232 yards. He also had 42 punt returns for 915 yards.

Playing basketball, he scored 1,216 points in 74 games.

Frazier amassed 5,042 passing yards, completing 300-of-552 passes for 60 touchdowns. He had 222 carries for 1,587 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Frazier also plays basketball and is averaging 4.5 points per game and 4.8 rebounds for the Panthers.
