The Long County 9- and 10-year-old Mite team recently won the sub-district championship.
The double-elimination tournament was held in Richmond Hill from June 17-19.
The boys from Long County went undefeated in the tourney, bombing Hendrix Park on Tuesday 12-0, and then beating the Richmond Hill Wildcats 12-4 on Wednesday.
In the championship game on Thursday, the Long boys won the nail-biter 6-5 over Pooler in the sixth inning, wrapping up their tournament with a 3-0 record.
The members of the team were No. 7 Jerod Martin, No. 14 Christian Hall, No. 4 Tripp Stapleton, No. 12 Trae Stapleton, No. 5 Brian Lester, and No. 10 Tanner Brant.
Rounding out the squad were
No. 6 Deonderaee Volcy, No. 8 Jeffery Edmondson, No. 9 Matt Strickland, No. 1 Joshua Gordon, No. 24 Logan Hyde, and No. 3 Ritchie Wygant.
Coaching the team were Nick Wells, Donnie Gordon, and Dave Stapleton.
The Long County team will play again this week and will have the home field advantage as they play in Ludowici.  The District Tournament will take place on June 24th, 25th, and 26th.
