The 12 and under Long County All-Stars baseball team competed in a sub-district tournament last Monday in Pooler, netting a win and a loss.

In the first game, the Ludowici squad defeated the Pooler All-Stars, 2-1, in a defensive battle. Tripp Stapleton hit a walk off home run to seal the victory.

In the second contest, the outcome wasn’t as favorable for the Long All-Stars, but the game was just as exciting as the first. The team from Ludowici hit five home runs before it eventually came up short and lost 14-17 to Jeff Davis County. The match went 10 innings, and Trae Stapleton, Christian Hall and Tripp Stapleton each nailed a home run. Brian Lester crushed two home runs for the Long County team.
