Long County All-Stars eliminated from playoffs

The remaining Long County All-Star baseball teams wrapped up their seasons last week.

In the 8-under boys division, the Ludowici team lost 9-5 on June 29 to the Brantley County boys. Later that same day, however, they defeated the Charlton County team 7-0. Pierce County beat the All-Stars, 12-0, last Wednesday, ending their season.

Also on June 29, in the 8-under girls division, the Ludowici lasses put forth a good effort but lost to Pierce County 10-2 and then to the South Bryan team, 11-2, ending their season.

In the 14-U boys division, the Long County squad lost 9-5 to Jeff Davis on June 29, but beat Pierce County 10-9 later that same day. The Ludowici team eventually lost 11-10 in extra innings to McIntosh County.

The members of the 8-under boys All-Star team are Garrett Bleyman, Blake Edmondson, Brock Heath, Bryson Heath, Chandler Howard, Matthew Marchand, Phillip McGowan, Casey McManus, Daylen Petoff, Trevor Ray, Joseph Raymer and Ethan Williams. The coaches are Randy Williams, Mark McManus, Bubba Howard and John Kuhaneck.

The members of the 8-under girls All-Star team are Alysa Anderson, Leighanna Bunton, Caitlin Edwards, Annabelle Fitts, Roxianne Herdman, Kiley Hunt, Shelby Jessen, Ajakalei Lucena, Chloe Rogers and Chant’e Thomas. The coaches are Will Herdman, Justin Thomas and Michael Bunton.

The members of the 14-U boys All-Star team are Debaron Anderson, Daniel Brooks, Blayn Cagle, James Francis, Zachary Harris, Gage Kasperian, Ryan McGowan, Austin Simmons, Clay Strickland, Zach Thorn and Dale Wilmet. The coaches are Nicky Wells, Clay Harris and Beth McGowan.
