Long County rec team wins state

The Long County 14 and under All-Star basketball team captured the Georgia Recreation Parks Association state championship Saturday.

Playing in Early County, Long County defeated Dooley County 49-38 in the finals to take home the crown. Members of the team are Adison Grant, Justin Thomas, Anthony Jones, Sam Turner, Ethan Williams, Adison Russell, Chandler Howard, Eben Thomas and Cameron Johnson.

The team is coached by Craig Walker and Justin Thomas. Henry Strickland is the recreation department director.
