The Long County High School boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were swept by Bryan County in Region 2-AA action last Friday in Pembroke.
The Blue Tide lost their sixth in a row, 74-35, and the Lady Tide fell, 58-48.
Xavier Stapleton led Long County with nine points. Terry Smith who put up eight.
Long County head coach Deshon Brock was disappointed in his team’s play and said that the players have to execute what they practice if they are going to turn their season around.
“We need to continue to work hard during practice and compete in all aspects of the game when we step on the floor. We didn’t do that tonight,” Brock said.
The Long County boys dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the region.
The Lady Tide fell to 5-4 overall and 1-3 in the region with their loss. No more information was available on this game.
This Friday, the Tide teams travel to Hazlehurst to take on Pierce County. Results will be online and in Sunday’s Courier.
