Long County High School recently learned it is losing its third varsity head coach of the year.

LCHS Athletic Director Karen Swindell said Lady Tide basketball coach Brian Todd has resigned from coaching and teaching to accept the recreation department director job in Claxton.

Todd joined the Long County coaching team in 2014, inheriting a team that went 4-13 the year before. In two years he has turned the team around. In 2016 the Lady Tide went 19-10 and this year 14-15. During his tenure as head coach his teams went to the state playoffs three times. His overall record at Long County was 56-56.

Todd also coached the Lady Tide soccer team during their first two years, posting a 28-8 record with two trips to the state playoffs.

"I wish Coach Todd the best as the recreation director at Claxton, he did a great job with our girls’ basketball program," Swindell said.

When the 2016 football season ended, head coach Eric McNair resigned. Last week, boys basketball coach Deshon Brock resigned.
