McMillan is finalist for Butkus Award.

Land Grant Holy Land is reporting that former Liberty County football player Raekwon McMillan is one of five finalist for the 2015 Butkus Award.

The award is given annual at the high school, college and professional level to the best linebackers in each category.

According to the Butkus Award’s website, the winner is chosen by an independent selection committee with 51 experts.

The winner will be announced Dec. 8.
Ohio State suffered its first loss of the season Nov. 21 to Michigan State. As of Nov. 23, McMillan had 105 total tackles, including four for loss, hurried the opposing quarterback five times, broke up three passes and recovered a fumble.

Before Saturday’s game at Michigan, which occurred passed the Courier’s press deadline, the Buckeyes were 10-1 overall and 6-1 in the Big Ten Conference’s East Division. The Buckeyes’ loss to Michigan State on Nov. 21 placed them second in their division.
